This intermediate-level course reviews one auditory skills hierarchy and then explores the subskills of auditory function that must be achieved for communicative competence. Specific treatment techniques for maximizing progress are discussed. Case examples provide the opportunity to explore activities appropriate for targeting these specific auditory goals.

  • Participants will be able to identify subskills of auditory function to expand their understanding of the hierarchy of auditory skill development.
  • Participants will be able to evaluate treatment techniques for maximizing auditory skill development.
  • Participants will be able to compare and contrast treatment plans given for various auditory profiles in case study presentations.
