Holidays are approaching, and though they are a very busy time of year for families, opportunities for developing listening and speaking skills in young children abound. Theme-based vocabulary, auditory, and pre-literacy activities are illustrated in application to goals for children with various levels of speaking and listening skills.

Course Objectives:

  • Upon completing this course, learners will be able to explain how to develop a therapy session lesson plan centered on a holiday theme.
  • Upon completing this course, learners will be able to describe carryover activities from therapy lessons that parents can use at home.
  • Upon completing this course, learners will be able to explain how to analyze a child’s goals and how holiday-based activities can be used to address those goals.
