Adults who receive a cochlear implant have access to sounds and speech that were unavailable to them before. But hearing sounds does not necessarily provide understanding. Auditory training and learning how to utilize the technology can help a recipient achieve his or her personal best. Many HOPE resources for adults are also appropriate for teens.
