Using computers is a way of life for many children. This course focuses on using interactive software, specifically Sound and WAY Beyond™, as an option for children to improve auditory and language skills. Guidelines for using interactive software, in general, are discussed. Specific aspects of Sound and WAY Beyond are demonstrated with suggestions on how to enrich the experience for developing and reinforcing therapy or educational goals.

This is a Recorded Course which requires either a Windows-based computer or a Mac with speakers/headphones to view. More information is available in the FAQs/Help section.

Course Objectives:

  • After this course, learners will be able to describe basic guidelines when using interactive software with children to improve their listening and spoken language skills.
  • After this course, learners will be able to explain the use of Sound and WAY Beyond as a listening tool for children.
  • After this course, learners will be able to explain how to reinforce spoken language development using interactive software.
