For all children, especially those with cochlear implants, building a good vocabulary is critical for later reading success. The role that parents, and the professionals that guide them, have in growing vocabulary cannot be overstated. This presentation discusses early vocabulary development and strategies for parents and professionals to utilize in further vocabulary expansion.

- Upon completing this course, learners will be able to describe the parent's role in vocabulary expansion for children with cochlear implants.
